CONSULTATIONS

Individual Consultations

I offer consultations prior to making a decision to work together. For individual adults we will meet for 45 minutes to discuss what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to work on.

Child and Family Consultations

I offer a detailed consultation process for families with children who may need treatment. I will first meet with one or both parents to discuss developmental history and current issues leading you to seek therapy.

The second session will be with you and your child. I will spend a few minutes alone with your child depending on age and need.

The final consultation session will be a detailed report of what I observed and what will be most helpful for your child. Sometimes this will be additional evaluations such as an Occupational Therapy evaluation or a specific behavioral therapy. I will provide referrals for those services. If your child would benefit from ongoing psychotherapy I will offer a treatment plan and will see your child in my practice if I have openings.

Parenting Consultations

Parenting consultations are for parents who need a little extra support or reassurance with parenting skills. During the first session we will discuss the areas in which you are struggling with your child and what changes you would like to see. Depending on your family’s needs I will provide a “game plan” for your family. We will have a second session to go over the plan.

After implementing the changes at home for a week or two we will meet again for feedback and address any changes that need to be made. Parenting consultations can be anywhere from 2 sessions to 12 depending on what your family needs.

ONGOING THERAPY SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual 45 minute weekly sessions. Individual therapy is a joint process in which we will explore feelings, beliefs, patterns, and behaviors to help you learn about yourself and grow in a way that is meaningful to you.

CHILD THERAPY

Individual 45 minute weekly sessions. Your child and I will engage in using Creative Arts Therapy, Play Therapy, and Sensory Processing techniques to learn how to calm our bodies so that we may identify our feelings and learn to talk about them.

TELE-THERAPY

Tele-therapy is exactly like an individual therapy session but virtual! I offer tele-therapy to established patients. If you are interested in tele sessions you must be willing to meet in person for at least three consecutive sessions in order to develop a relational rapport. Tele-therapy is best for new parents (it is so hard to get out of the house!) and people who travel for work a lot. If you have more questions please see the FAQ section or contact me.
